Somebody Like You: A Lesbian Romance Page 7

  “Mom, we’re fine.”

“Okay. I’ll see you in the morning or if I need a ride I’ll call you.”

  “Sure, mom. Good night.”

  “Good night, Grace.”

  CHAPTER FIFTEEN

It was three o’clock in the morning before Sydney arrived home. She was so tired that she had no idea how she made it home. She went to her room, removed her clothes and put on a t-shirt to sleep. Sydney was asleep before her head hit the pillow. Michelle heard Sydney come in and thought she might sleep in one of the other bedrooms, but she headed straight to her own room and got into bed. She wondered if Sydney even realized that she was in the king size bed.

As the early morning hour arrived, the two women gravitated toward each other and now their bodies were spooning. Michelle was the first one to wake up and she felt Sydney’s hand across her stomach. Michelle began to move away, but Sydney groaned and tightened her grip on her. It was eight thirty before they both stirred again. Sydney lifted her hand and rolled onto her back.

“Can I get up now and go to the bathroom?” Michelle asked with a laugh.

  “Huh?” Sydney asked.

“I tried to go an hour ago, but you wouldn’t let me go.”

  “I did?” Sydney asked embarrassed.

Michelle climbed out of bed and walked toward the bathroom. “Yep. You didn’t want to let me go.” She closed the door behind her.

“I never wanted to let you go,” Sydney whispered to the empty room.

Michelle came out of the bathroom still in one of Sydney’s long t-shirts. “Everything go okay at the hospital?”

Sydney nodded staring at Michelle. “The patient lived. I was out of it when I got home. I forgot you were staying over. Otherwise I never would have gotten into bed with you.” Sydney felt her face blush.

“It’s not the first time we’ve been in bed together,” Michelle said cozying up to Sydney.

“How about I make us some breakfast?” Sydney asked.

“No, Syd. You stay in bed and get some more rest. I’ve already sent a text to Grace. She’s on the way to pick me up.” Michelle went back into the bathroom to put her dress back on. She came out pulling the wrap around her.

“Come here,” Sydney said from the bed.

Michelle sat on the edge of the bed and put her heels back on.

  “Will I see you later?”

Michelle bent over and kissed Sydney softly. “Call me when you get up later.” Her phone vibrated. “Grace is out front. Now sleep.”

Sydney closed her eyes and nodded.

Michelle came out the front door and got into Grace’s car. “I can’t believe my mom’s doing the walk of shame.”

She chuckled. “The difference is, I have nothing to be ashamed about. Sydney didn’t get back to the house until three.”

  ****

Sydney called at two that afternoon. “Hi,” Michelle said as she picked up the phone.

  “Hi yourself.”

  “Did you get enough sleep?”

  “Yes. I just got up.”

“Would you like to come for dinner tonight?” Michelle asked as she poured herself another cup of coffee.

  “Yes,” Sydney said softly.

“Do you want to come over around four?”

  “Are we eating that early?”

“No, but I wanted to spend time with you in case you have to run out again.”

Sydney chuckled. “I’m sorry that I have to keep leaving you.”

“Syd, it’s your job. I understand.”

At four o’clock, Sydney was knocking on Michelle’s apartment door. “Come on in, Doc.”

  “Hi, Grace.”

“Mom is in the kitchen,” Grace said before heading back to her bedroom.

“Thanks, Grace.” Sydney walked into the kitchen and came up behind Michelle. “Hey,” she said as her lips came down on the exposed skin on the back of Michelle’s neck.

Michelle smiled and turned into Sydney. “You look well rested.”

“I am,” she said as her lips stole a quick kiss. “Can I help with dinner?”

  “It’s already in the oven.”

“Smells good. What are we having?”

“An old fashioned ham casserole.” Michelle answered.

“I’m sure it will be wonderful.”

  “Something to drink?”

“If I say yes, you’ll move away.” Sydney chuckled still holding onto to Michelle.

They both giggled and Sydney let go of Michelle. “I’ll have a bottle of water.”

Michelle went into the refrigerator and retrieved the water. “Is everything okay, Syd?”

“Yeah, why?” Sydney asked furrowing her brows.

  “You’re just so quiet.”

  “I’m just admiring the view.”

Michelle looked down at her t-shirt and shorts and chuckled. “You are so easy to please.”

“Always have been.” Sydney stole another kiss.

Michelle moved out of Sydney’s arms. “If we don’t stop now, I’ll be in terrible shape by dinner.”

“Is that so bad?” Sydney whispered in her ear.

Michelle laughed. “Is this the same woman who was so nervous when we got back to your house?”

They both heard Grace approaching and stepped away from each other. “Dinner will be ready shortly, Grace.”

Grace went to the refrigerator and grabbed a bottle of water. As the liquid went down her throat, she eyed the two women suspiciously. “What’s going on?”

“Nothing,” Michelle said reaching into the cabinet for plates.

  Sydney just shrugged.

“Do you need me to do anything?” Grace asked before she left the kitchen.

“No, honey. I’ll call you when dinner is on the table.”

“Okay.” She looked at the two women before shaking her head and walked away.

Sydney looked down at her jeans and checked her zipper. “I thought maybe my zipper was open.”

As they finished dinner, Grace grabbed her empty plate. “Let it go, honey. I’ll clean up. You go finish your homework.”

  “Are you sure?”

“I’ll help your mother.” Sydney volunteered.

Michelle and Sydney put the dishes in the dishwasher and put away the leftovers. As Michelle wiped her hands on a dish towel, Sydney pressed her body against her.

“I can’t seem to keep my lips off you,” she said as she kissed her deeply.

They kissed over and over as Sydney had Michelle’s body pressed into the counter. “Syd, if you touch me, I will come instantly.”

“If you keep talking like that, I’ll come without you touching me.”

Michelle took Sydney’s hand and pulled her toward the small laundry room off the kitchen. In the dark they began to kiss again.

“Please, Syd. I need you to touch me.”

Sydney didn’t need any more encouragement and pulled Michelle’s shorts down to her knees. As her hand went to her core, she could feel how wet Michelle was. Two fingers entered her and her thumb kept the pressure on her clit. Michelle was right, it was only a moment before she exploded. Sydney captured her mouth so she wouldn’t scream. “Oh, god, Syd.”

Before Sydney could pull her fingers from her, Michelle had her turned around so she was against the wall. Her fingers quickly opened her pants and pushed them down. Michelle didn’t even have a chance to enter her before Sydney exploded against the panting woman.

They both giggled against each other. “I wanted our first time to be little more romantic,” Syd said kissing her lips gently.

“What’s more romantic than us stealing a quickie in my laundry room?” Michelle kissed Sydney neck. “I just had the best orgasm I’ve ever had in years and I want you again.” Michelle moved away from Sydney and pulled up her pants. Sydney did the same.

“We smell like sex,” Sydney whispered in the dark.

“I’m going to change my shorts. Go into the bathroom and wash your hands,” Michelle
said as she opened the laundry room door.

By the time the two women met in the living room they had composed themselves. Sydney reached for Michelle’s hand and pulled her onto the couch.

Grace came out of her bedroom and found her mother and Sydney sitting on the couch holding hands. “I just came out to say good night.” Grace grinned. “You two look good together. You’re both glowing.”

“We are?” Michelle asked giving Sydney a private wink. “Good night, Grace.

  “Good night, Doc.”

  “Good night, Grace.”

“Mom, I’ll see you in the morning.”

Sydney began to get up. “I think I’d better go too. I’ve got a few things to do before I get to bed.”

Michelle followed her to the door. “Will I see you this week?”

“I know I don’t want to wait until the weekend.”

Michelle kissed her gently. “Drive safely.”

Sydney wrapped her arms around Michelle. “Thanks for dinner. Good night.”

  “Good night, Syd.”

Michelle went to her daughter’s door and knocked.

  “Come in, mom.”

“So you’re okay with me seeing Sydney?” Grace asked sitting on the bed.

“Mom, I’m the one who pushed you two together.” Grace giggled. “I’m fine with it. Oh, by the way. Cathy’s parents are going to San Diego this weekend. Cathy said I could go with them. Can I go?”

  “When are you leaving?”

“I’ll go to their house after school on Friday and when her dad gets home, we’re leaving.”

“I’ll call her mom tomorrow, but you can go if you’d like.”

  “Yeah, I want to.”

  “When are you coming back?”

  “Sunday afternoon.”

  “What about your homework?”

“Cathy and I will do it after school on Friday.”

“As long as you don’t ignore your schoolwork.” Michelle kissed Grace’s cheek. “Good night, Grace.”

  “Good night, mom.”

Michelle walked into her bedroom as a text arrived. She sat on the bed and read it. Thanks again for dinner and that mind blowing dessert. Michelle giggled as she began typing. Guess who’s going away this weekend? Michelle held her phone as she waited for Sydney’s response. I hope it’s not you. Before Michelle could respond, another text came through. Can I call you? Michelle’s phone rang a few minutes later.

“Grace is going to San Diego with Cathy’s family this weekend,” Michelle said as the phone vibrated to life.

  “Really?”

Michelle could hear Sydney’s excitement. “They leave Friday afternoon and won’t be back until Sunday afternoon.”

“Would you spend the weekend with me?” Sydney asked quietly. “I’ll get someone to cover for me so we won’t be interrupted.”

“Yes, Syd. I would love to spend the weekend with you.” Michelle exhaled. “I’m still vibrating from this evening.”

“I am too. I plan on taking a long cold shower when I hang up.”

Michelle giggled. “I think I will too by the time we finish this conversation.”

  CHAPTER SIXTEEN

Michelle called Sydney on her way home Monday night. “Hi, Syd.”

  “Hey. Are you home?”

“On the way. What about you?”

“I’ll be here for another half hour or so.” Sydney voice showed how tired she was. “How’s your schedule this week?”

“If I want to leave Friday by five, I’ll be working late each night. You?”

“Pretty much the same except for Wednesday. I’ll be home early Wednesday.” Sydney sighed loudly. “I guess we will have to wait until Friday night to see each other.”

  “I’m sorry, Syd.”

  “Yeah, me too.”

Michelle pulled into her parking space. “I guess I’ll talk to you tomorrow night.”

  “I miss you, Michelle.”

“Oh, I miss you too, honey.”

  “Good night.”

“Good night, Syd. I.” Michelle sighed instead of finishing her words. The two women were just too exhausted to continue the conversation.

  “Me too, Michelle.”

Michelle smiled. She never said I love you, but Syd knew that’s what she was going to say. “Bye.”

Wednesday Michelle got to work early and worked through lunch. She wanted to leave earlier than her usual time. Michelle pulled in front of Sydney’s house at seven o’clock. “Hey,” she said as Sydney picked up the phone.

“Hey, yourself.” The smile showed through Sydney’s voice.

“Are you home?” Michelle asked stifling her giggles.

“Yeah. All by myself.” Sydney moaned her disappointment.

Michelle opened her car door and walked toward the front door. “You sound lonely.”

  “I am.”

“So why don’t you open your front door,” Michelle said with a giggle.

The door flung open and Sydney found Michelle standing on her front stoop.

“Surprise,” she said as Sydney pulled her into the house.

Sydney began to kiss her face all over. “You are a sight for sore eyes.” She pulled Michelle close to her body. “How long do we have?”

“About a half hour before I have to get home.”

Sydney pulled Michelle to the couch with her. She cupped Michelle’s face. “I missed you so much this week.”

“I’ve missed you too. This week doesn’t want to end.” Michelle reached for Sydney’s mouth and kissed her with all the intensity that she could find.

“I’ve missed your kisses.” Sydney’s hand went to Michelle’s bare knee as her mouth left kisses across her neck. “I didn’t know you dressed up for work.”

“I usually don’t, but I knew I was going to be seeing you.”

“Oh, yeah,” Sydney said as her hand moved further up the skirt. A moan escaped her mouth as she found her wet and without panties. Sydney looked at her face. “You always go commando?”

Michelle giggled. “No. My underwear is in the car along with my pantyhose.”

“You’re too good to me.” Sydney’s fingers went to her folds.

“Syd, take your shorts off.” Michelle moaned as Sydney’s fingers paused.

Sydney was naked in a flash. Then she reached for the zipper on Michelle’s skirt. Once the skirt was off, Sydney pulled her to the end of the couch. Her green eyes darkened as her mouth licked the folds. “I’ve waited so long for this,” Sydney whispered as she entered her with two fingers. Her tongue applied pressure to the bud as her fingers worked in and out.

“Don’t stop, Syd,” Michelle moaned as she exploded with a loud scream. “Sydney.” Michelle found Sydney grinning as she looked at her. “Proud of yourself?”

Sydney nodded with another wide grin. “Yeah.”

“Then come over here.” Michelle grabbed her and rolled on top of Sydney. “You feel so good.” She kissed Sydney’s mouth deeply before her body began a purposeful decent. “This looks different,” Michelle said with a giggle. The last time she had seen Sydney nude there was a lot more hair. Now she just had a thin strip down the middle. “I like this,” she said touching her.

“Michelle, can you look at me another time.”

  “Anxious?”

“Yes,” Sydney said as Michelle’s mouth landed where she wanted her.

“I think we went over our half hour,” Sydney said holding Michelle close to her.

“It was well worth it.” Michelle’s mouth found Sydney’s again. They both began to put their clothes back on. “This is the second time I’m leaving your house doing the walk of shame.”

  “Huh?” Sydney asked not understanding.

“Last Sunday I left your house in the dress from the night before and today I’m leaving without my underwear and pantyhose.”

Sydney giggled. “If you feel better, I’ll give you something else to put on.”

  “Yeah and how w
ill I explain that to Grace when I walk into the apartment?”

“Good point.” Sydney giggled again. She approached Michelle. “You can spend the night,” she said wiggling her eyebrows.

“Wish I could.” Michelle kissed Sydney and grabbed her purse.

Sydney went to her desk and handed Michelle a key. “In case you get here before me on Friday night.”

“Thanks.” They kissed again. “I’ve got to go.”

“Call me tomorrow or stop by again,” Sydney said with a grin.

  “Wish I could, babe.”

Michelle walked into the apartment with her pantyhose hidden in her purse. Her underwear she put back on in the car. “Hi, Grace.” Michelle walked toward the kitchen and kissed Grace who was at the refrigerator.

“Ew, mom,” Grace said holding her nose. “Go take a shower. You smell like sex.”

  Michelle’s jaw dropped.

“You stopped to see Sydney, didn’t you?”

“Ah,” Michelle said turning her back.

Grace started laughing. “I’m only teasing you, mom.” She grabbed Michelle’s shoulders and began to push her out of the room. “Go take a shower and I’ll heat you up a plate of food.”

  “Thanks, sweetie.”

“And, mom. Don’t have too much fun this weekend,” Grace said leaning on the doorway.

“Where is that sweet little girl of mine?” Michelle asked holding up her hands.

“She’s all grown up, mom. So don’t think you can get anything past me.” Grace turned toward the laundry room. “I’ll never look at that room again the same.”

“You heard us?” Michelle asked feeling her face turn bright red.

“Not until I came to get a bottle of water.”

Michelle covered her face. “I’m such a terrible mother.”

“No you’re not, mom. You’re the best and I’m happy that you are finally happy. Sydney is very good for you.”

“Thank you, sweetie. Let me go take a shower.”

“Yeah because Sydney has turned you into a sex maniac.”

As Michelle went down the hallway she yelled. “How do you know it’s Sydney?” Her laugh carried into the kitchen and this time it was Grace covering her face.
